Biography:
Tristan Stocks – Tenor
Tristan Stocks trained at The Guildhall School of Music and Drama and at Dennis O’Neill’s prestigious opera studio, The Wales International Academy of Voice. He has been awarded a Susan Chilcott Scholarship as well as a prize at the John Lill Awards. In 2010 Tristan made his role debut as well as understudying for Glyndebourne Festival Opera.
Tristan was a Britten-Pears Young Artist at Aldeburgh, in Les Mamelles de Tirésias. He was awarded the Grange Park Opera Scholarship and subsequently sang the role of Landry in Fortunio for the Company. Other recent roles have included Ramiro in La Cenerentola, Paris in La belle Hélène, Tonio in La fille du regiment, Nemorino in L’elisir d’amore, Alfredo, in La Traviata, Ernesto in Don Pasquale, Tamino in The magic Flute, Rinuccio in Gianni Schicchi, Nanki-Poo in The Mikado, Frederic in The Pirates of Penzance and Orpheus in Orpheus in the Underworld. In recital, he has appeared in venues which have included the Wigmore Hall, St John’s Smith Square, and Kings Place. Tristan has performed in Masterclasses with: Dame Kiri Te Kanawa, Dennis O’Neill, Nelly Miricioiu, Elizabeth Connell, Della Jones and Brian Dickie.
Upcoming performances include: Orpheus, in Orpheus in the Underworld, Tamino in The Magic Flute and the principal tenor roles in a continuing tour of: H.M.S. Pinafore, The Mikado and The Pirates of Penzance.
